The Skin Clinic Service - FAQs
-
Our skin clinic service is for people with skin concerns who feel they may need a bit of extra help managing their health.
This can include for known conditions such as hyperpigmentation, acne, eczema, psoriasis, mild cases of cellulitis and for scalp conditions.
We can also advise and treat a number of symptoms, including itching, dryness, broken skin, swelling, discoloration, spots and peeling.
-
We’ll see anyone of any age who has a skin concern.
However, if your concern requires an opinion from a dermatologist (specialised skin doctor), we may not be able to treat you. This includes for cancers, suspicious lesions and growths, and severe skin conditions.
-
If you’d like some advice on your skin specifically, the skin clinic may be best suited to your needs.
-
Absolutely! We also have a range of aesthetics services which may cover your needs if medicines are not appropriate for your problem.
-
You can still pop in for a consultation! We would treat an advice-only consultation as a minor ailments consultation.
-
If, during the course of your consultation, it becomes apparent that a prescription-only-medicine is best suited to treat your problem, the pharmacist can offer to write said prescription for you.
The pharmacist’s clinical judgement is final, and if they determine that a prescription is not necessary or appropriate, you will not receive one.
-
The charge for our skin clinic service varies depending on the outcome of your consultation. As a guide:
if you only need skincare advice, you’ll be charged at the rate of a minor ailments consultation
if you require a consultation that is more in depth and involves a prescription, you’ll be charged at the rate of our consultation with prescription service
if you opt for aesthetic treatment for your problem, you’ll be charged for the aesthetic service you receive
