The Laser Hair Removal Service - FAQs

  • We typically would recommend every 4-6 weeks, as this follows the pattern of hair regrowth.

  • Laser treatment isn’t right for everyone. It’s important we make sure the treatment will be safe for your skin.

To be eligible for treatment, you must be:

    • over 18 years of age (and able to provide ID if requested to prove this)

    • able and competent to consent to laser treatment

    • have not had sensitivities to past laser treatments

    • have no known sensitivities or allergies to products used within the service, including ultrasound gel, cosmetics, non-perfumed cleansers or moisturisers

    • not be taking certain medicines, including:

      • any hypoglycaemic medicines

      • any treatments for cancer

      • medicines used to treat skin conditions (such as Roaccuatane, Aknemycin etc.)

      • oral steroids

      • medicines to thin the blood (anti-coagulants)

      • anti-seizure or epilepsy medicines

      • anti-dysrhythmic medicines (medicines for abnormal heart rhythms)

      • medicines to treat rheumatoid arthritis

      • medicines for AIDS or other auto-immune diseases

      • antipsychotic medicines

      • St John’s Wort

      • androgenic hormones such as Danazol

  • The TrilogyIce laser works by targeting the root of the hair. It is able to target the hair and not the skin, because it is drawn to the hair by the melanin (pigment). This is why lasers will typically only work against dark and black hairs, not blond or red hairs.

After the treatment, the hair may fall out. Another hair might grow in its place, in which case another treatment may be needed. We recommend further treatments to take place every 4-6 weeks, in line with the hair’s natural growth cycle.

  • The number of treatments any person needs is dependent on a number of factors, including:

    • How well the hair responds in the first place

    • Whether the person is following the appropriate aftercare and skincare advice

    • Natural changes in response to hormones, stress and external factors can all affect hair growth, which can also alter how many sessions are needed.

For most people, we can hesitantly suggest 6-10 sessions for total hair removal. However, you many need more or less sessions, and there can be no guarantees.

  • A patch test is a (very) quick consultation, a few days before your planned treatment.

It allows us to see how your skin responds to the laser and other products used as part of the service. A patch test can also allow us to determine the best settings for the laser against your skin type.

We will not proceed with laser treatment without a patch test.

  • TrilogyIce offers fantastic results, with minimal discomfort and fast treatments. The laser is very versatile, treatments don’t require any downtime and are generally considered very effective.

  • We are not currently able to offer treatments for ano-genital areas, however we are looking into this for future treatments.

Not sure which areas this means? - If it’s covered by your pants, we don’t currently offer treatments for the area.

  • Please see our laser treatment guide for treatment costs. If you have any questions at all about costs, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us!
